SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Nurse Manager is responsible for the leadership and coordination of all nursing at the Crisis Stabilization Unit and Walk In Center (CSU/WIC) under the clinical oversight of Centerstone of TN Director of Nursing and administrative oversight by the Program Manager for the CSU/WIC. The CSU/WIC Nurse Manager will assure quality nursing care. The CSU/WIC Nurse Manager is responsible for developing unit goals, objectives, and policies and procedures. Collaborates with the team in developing, coordinating, and implementing clinical and program activities. Responsible for infection control for the CSU/WIC campus and assuring all regulatory requirements are met Guarantees the highest degree of quality care is maintained in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. Understands and confirms compliance with accrediting agencies, to include required trainings and documentation. Collaborates with Provider staff and management team to support the patient experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible of the daily oversight of Unit staff and the Mental Health guests.Creates a service culture that supports the crisis system’s needs and requirements which includes staff recruitment, the inclusion of those with lived experience in the crisis model, onboarding, training, clinical staffing, and supervision, to ensure the highest quality care and manage organizational risk.Ensures crisis model, including Zero Suicide, trauma-informed care, and clinical best practices, is integral in all care provided.Monitors CSU/WIC census and acuity and reports to leadership monthly. Reviews denials for appropriateness and analyzes trends.Manages psychiatric crises and collaborates with providers in the management of and/or transfer to an appropriate level of care. Provides accurate, constructive feedback to staff on an ongoing and timely basis, supervision to direct reports, and documents performance and development feedback.Ensures the implementation of clinical best practices in the Crisis continuum. Provides ongoing clinical supervision, training, and team meetingsComplies with applicable standards and contractual agreements.Demonstrate an ability to manage emergency and self-identified crises, ensure the safety and stabilization of clients, and to make appropriate referrals/linkages when indicated. Serves as the CSU/WIC Infection Control point of contact. Implements control measures as set forth by the Infection Control CommitteeSupports psychiatric providers in managing sample medications. Ensures proper documentation and inventoryProvides Inpatient Nursing coverage as needed Responsible for Unit Emergency Medical Kit and AED, ensuring they are properly stocked and functioningKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.Excellent leadership, interpersonal skills, and customer-driven care skills. Strong customer service, communication, prioritization, and organization skills. Proficient written and oral communication skills with the ability to accurately and professionally implement and document services provided to clients. Basic computer skills and ability to learn/utilize electronic health record with proficiency. Experience working therapeutically with specified population, to include using various treatment modalities appropriate for specified population, and utilizing strength-based therapeutic approaches. Experience working in a team environment.Experience and knowledge of managed-care principles, best clinical/nursing practices, business and leadership theory and models, critical thinking, and team building
QUALIFICATIONS
Education Level
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with four years’ equivalent RN supervisory experience in a behavioral health field.
Years of Experience
Two (2) years of previous leadership is strongly preferred.
Certification/Licensure
RN Licensure in good standing with no restrictions in the state of Tennessee. Must have a valid driver's license and complete required background checks as required by agency policy and or funding sources. CPR/ACLS Certification required.
