Northrop Grumman, Tactical Space Systems Division, has an opening for a Manager Mechanical Engineering 2 to join our team of highly qualified and diverse individuals. This position will be located in Gilbert, Arizona.

These are highly dynamic, interactive positions. You will interact with numerous stakeholders including program management, systems engineering, flight hardware design engineers and logistical support services. Outstanding organizational and leadership skills are required to succeed in this roles.

The Integration & Test (I&T) Mechanical Engineering Department is looking for a Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) functional section manager who will also provide technical leadership to space programs and the engineering team.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Staffing support to space systems programsConducting quarterly performance evaluations and annual reviewsProviding technical leadership and guidance to the staffManaging indirect, program direct and capital needsProfessional development and mentoring of direct reportsSupporting Functional Homeroom initiatives and projects which include process improvement, Event Response Teams, Corrective, and Preventive Action implementation, Proposal efforts

PROJECT RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Experienced and trained in Cost Account Management (CAM)Define MGSE assignments and priorities across multiple platformsManage MGSE development, review, and readinessEvaluate and standardize current MGSE processesDevelop synergy and execution consistency across program portfolios and multiple sitesContribute to the development of both near and longer term staffing plans

TEHCNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Demonstrated ability in Mechanical Design & Analysis of Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE)Review high level technical data for accuracy and consistencyProvide support guidance on structural analysis, couple loads analysis and tolerance studiesExperience/knowledge of generating engineering drawings, Drafting, GD&T in accordance with ASME Y14.5 requirementsGenerate MGSE proposals to include costing, schedules, staffing and Risk mitigationIn depth knowledge of Integration and Test process’, flows, in respect to MGSE needs from factory processing through Launch campaignsSupport fabrication, build, proof test and delivery of all MGSE hardware

  

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors of Science Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline plus 8 years of engineering experience OR Masters of Science Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline plus 6 years of engineering experienceProven leadership experience on a project and/or teamExperience in the Aerospace and Defense industryCandidate must have, and/or be able to maintain the following active U.S. Government security clearances: Dept of Defense Top Secret level and SCI access with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI)

  

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of spacecraft sub assemblies and/or integration and testExperience as an MGSE designer and/or leadExperience as a functional manager Experience in space systems and space system production, integration and testexperience in Program project management

Salary Range: $119,200.00 - $178,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
