Power, Recovery & Caustic Superintendent
Hodge Mill
Reports To: Pulp/ Power and Recovery Manager
Summary description:
Responsible for actively participating in all safety programs and safety meetings, as well as comply with all company safety policies. Responsible to the Area Manager for the overall efficient, safe, and economic operation of the Department, so that steam, electricity, cooling water, compressed air, and cooking liquor are supplied in the desired quantities and qualities to the other departments of the Mill. Authorized to set quality operating targets and/or issue temporary changes.
task/responsibilities:
* Ensure reliable and efficient production of the Power, Recovery and Caustic areas.
* Minimize unsafe conditions in the workplace through implementation of proper safety controls, barriers and procedures.
* Develop departmental procedures including work/operating instructions as well as training procedures/materials
* Coordinate both scheduled and unscheduled work with maintenance & engineers
* Investigation of alternatives and process designs related to cost savings, increasing capacity, and/or increasing the utilization of manpower and equipment

* Must have good organizational skills, math skills, people skills, and be competent in reading mechanical drawings.
