MGR II Infusion Pharmacy

Responsibilities

The Infusion Pharmacist will perform chemotherapy and sterile product admixture for the clinic departments.  The infusion pharmacist will work closely with the physician team in monitoring patients on therapy specifically chemotherapy. They will be required to know oncology protocols and be responsible for verifying orders per protocols. Manages pharmacy prepared infusion medications administered in the clinic including accurate and complete charge capture. Responsible for achievement of customer service and financial objectives; adherence to professional practices and Kelsey-Seybold policies and procedures: and management of all assigned personnel including students. Manages inventory and over all cost of service provisions. Performs all of a registered pharmacist including accurate dispensing and counseling of prescriptions to customers and distribution of clinic use pharmaceuticals.

Salary Range: $132,140 - $163,232 (Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.)

 

Qualifications


Education


Required: Graduate from School of Pharmacy


Preferred: N/A


Experience


Required: 3- 5 yrs management experience

 

2-3 years hospital/ infusion pharmacy experience. 

 

Must by sterile products  IV Certified.


Preferred: Strong chemotherapy and oncology background. 

 

Previous KSC experience. 

 

Previous experience with aseptic techniques.


License(s)


Required: Texas license Registered Pharmacist


Preferred: N/A


Communicate:

 

Required: Able to communicate with Pharmacy Department personnel to delegate duties, and inform and 

 

train about policies and procedures.

 

Able to communicate with physicians and other allied health professionals regarding patient care issues.

 

Able to communicate with customer and in clinic patients to handle complaints and problems, assist with 

 

questions, and recommend products/recommendations.

 

Preferred: Write reports (i.e., weekly/monthly) pertaining to accident/injury, maintain logs, necessary infusion 

 

records.

 

Special Skills


Required: Operate computer terminal for infusion preparations.

 

Add, Subtract, multiply, and divide whole number and decimals to calculate infusion preparation dosages.


Preferred: Basic Cardiac Life Support.


Other 


Required: Stress Tolerance- to accurately prepare infusion medication within the required amount of time. 

 

Professional appearance.


Preferred: Excellent people management skills.
