Mgr Operational Excellence
Location :Mandideep, Madhya Pradesh, India Position Title: Manager Operations Excellence Summary: This position leads production for the Mandideep plant and is responsible for driving Lean Manufacturing and asset utilization levels to meet production targets within the limits of Hershey business plan, global Lean Standards, global quality standards, good manufacturing practices, environment, health and safety standards, and good community and government relations. _ *Major Duties/Responsibilities:*_ * Lean Culture Development* • Help creating the culture of “One team”, by fostering knowledge transfer and collaboration across teams, sharing and celebrating successes. • Implement all Lean standards as per global guidelines and requirement. • Coach, mentor and guide teams, wherever necessary. • Creating a Zero loss culture. • Employs Six Sigma and Lean methodology and analytics into organizational operations in order to accomplish business objectives. • Assists in development and implementation of a communication plan to foster the Lean Six Sigma environment and culture. • Oversees and manage site vide OpEx projects aimed at cost reduction through productivity, Quality and efficiency enhancement. • Responsible for driving the manufacturing, quality, and process improvement initiatives throughout the factory. • Helping out team to perform ZBA and loss analysis. • Aiding team to find improvement projects which will help in CI projects. * Monitoring & Reviewing* • Attend the BU meeting and all DDS daily; Provide relevant inputs for the production plan. • Ensuring Weekly BU and Monthly BU takes place as per the Lean standard, keep a track of all KPIs and projects undertaken by the team. • Conduct Health checks of all meeting and tracking the same in BU meetings. • Monitor and review Lean pillar Phase progression, with integration of overall goal of Site master plan. • Co-ordination with global Lean pillar leads to ensure pillar progression is happening in right direction on weekly/bi-weekly/monthly basis. • Monitor the achievement of monthly production schedule, actual cost of production in terms of fixed and variable costs, against standard costs. • Creating new Metrics and monitoring system, if something comes up. * Factory Performance & Reliability* • Establish guidelines on the project parameters and measurement for success • Build technical skills within the plant • Control wastage of resources, machines, raw materials and other accessories • Guide implementation of process improvement mechanisms and techniques identified • Review efficiency measures such as asset utilization, plant productivity, machine downtime, etc. • Guide the Executives to scout for efficient ways of running the operations Set up projects for the same and guide teams towards implementation by setting up a plan and conducting periodic reviews Lead the change management process and ensure company readiness to accept and adopt the changes to way of doing business which arise due to the above steps * People Management* • Guide teams and drive engagement by applying consistent standards for performance management, providing equal opportunities of training. • Communicate regularly with team members to provide organizational/functional updates, resolve conflicts, create intra-functional work groups, etc • Motivation of the team for efficient Lean implementation. • R&R recommendations basis real time performances. _ *Key KPIs:*_ • OEE Improvement % • MTTR • MTBF • Productivity • Delivery of weekly plans (HIPL and 3P) • Reduction in RM/PM losses • Capacity utilization _ *Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities: *_ * Knowledge*: TPM, Lean manufacturing, 5S, DMAIC, SMED, Motion Study, Lean Metrics • Knowledge of FMCG business and financial perspective • Expertise in manufacturing management • Expertise in SAP environment. • Knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint ,MS Word, MS Project and Minitab * Skills:* • Excellent communication skill, multi-tasking and time management skills • Leadership and team work collaboration skills • Ability to work in a collaborative manner with various functions across the organization • Experience in planning and priority setting • Effective execution experience * Education: * Industrial Engineering with Six sigma Green Belt/ Black Belt or Dairy or Food Technologist or Engineer with Six sigma Green Belt/ Black Belt or Engineer with MBA in Lean Manufacturing * Experience:* 4 to 5 years The Hershey Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
