This position is for day shift typically between 7 AM and 5 PM, with some variability in start and stop times depending on current work and volumes. The weekends are covered by team members, but there are times the manager might get called for support of those team members on weekends. The weekly hours will be no less than 45hr/week.
Responsibilities
We are looking for a leader of this 4-state intake team over home health and hospice who has strong inservice delivery, people leadership, change management and exceptional communication skills. They need to be able to set direction for the team to align with those goals and have accountability for themselves and their team to accomplish the departments goals.
Travel
There will be a need to travel to OK, WI, MO and IL at least several times a year to ensure direct team connectivity and oversight.
Technical Skills
The chosen candidate must work effectively within Epic and have a global understanding of using the EMR in a large health system setting. Also, who can navigate Teams, Outlook and other Microsoft apps like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, with Director, department goals and infrastructure to align with defined business strategy.Lead Intake staff assigned to area, ensuring appropriate resources are assigned to meet goals and objectives. Provides department guidance, manages recruitment, onboarding and training, encourages staff development and performs coaching, performance evaluations and disciplinary process as needed.Monitor and track expenditures, overtime, and other costs. Ensure staffing levels and expenditures remain within budget. Notify Director of any budget concerns. Monitor, document and report department outcomes and progress metrics. Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives, including those ensuring staff development, training and safety. Address and resolve issues to ensure goals remain on track. Provide guidance on operational policies, procedures and questions. When escalated beyond RN Supervisors, respond to staff issues, concerns or complaints from patients or family members of patients, referral sources, and others. Apply the existing body of evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge in health care to nursing practice, ensure that nursing care is delivered based on patient’s age-specific needs and clinical needs as described in the department’s Scope of Service.As an SSM Health nurse, demonstrate the professional nursing standards defined in the professional practice model, using the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses to guide responses to the current and evolving health and nursing needs of patients and patient populations. Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.Perform other duties as assigned.
