Position Overview

Directs staff of Service Department in branch to provide quality service to all customers.

Job ResponsibilitiesDirects, monitors, and motivates staff of the branch service department to provide quality service to all customers.Provides continued, up-to-date training of branch service and sales personnel.Inspects termite and pest control work done by the branch personnel to ensure compliance with company standards.Responds to customer complaints.Contacts pending cancellations in an attempt to retain account.Maintains current awareness of number of customers remaining to be serviced in the month.Takes responsibility of servicing pest routes when necessary.Maintains inventory.

Job RequirementsHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED)2 or 4 year degree strongly preferred1-2 years related experience preferredAbility to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations.Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Knowledge of dry chemicals and pesticides.Familiar with Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations.

Incumbent is required to have:

Close visual acuity to perform detail oriented activities at distances close to the eyes, as well as visual acuity to perform activities at or within arm’s reach with skill, control, and accuracy, and to determine the accuracy, neatness, and/or thoroughness of work assigned , or make general observations of facilities or structures (i.e., inspection).Visual acuity to operate motor vehicles or equipment.

Incumbent will be subject to:

Both inside (not necessarily temperature controlled) and outside (without protection from weather; extreme heat-above 100 and/or cold-below 32 for more than one hour) environmental conditions.Hazardous physical conditions, such as mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, heights and scaffolding, chemical exposure, and/or high heat.Atmospheric conditions affecting the respiratory system of the skin, such as fumes, odors, dust, mold, mist, gas, poor ventilation.Exposure to animals and insects.Meet physical requirements and/or pass medical certification in compliance with state and/or federal regulatory requirements and company safety policies relating to carrying and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), including, but not limited to an OSHA compliant respirator.Working in confined spaces, narrow aisles, or passageways which could cause reactions in those with claustrophobic tendencies.

What is this role about?

Our Commercial Service Managers play a key leadership role in our local Terminix branches. This role is all about leading and motivating our local Pest Technician Teams to provide outstanding service delivery of Terminix products to our valued customers.

What does a “Day-in-the-Life” look like?

Every day our teams of Commercial Pest Techs are out in the neighborhoods across the country visiting commercial customers and performing their pest control treatments. The Service Manager at each local branch is responsible for ensuring this team is functioning effectively, operating efficiently and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

Here are a few more specifics of what you would be doing each day:

• Monitoring branch scheduling and ensuring pest tech routes are successfully completed

• Ensuring regulatory compliance and safety standards are met or exceeded

• Responding to customer concerns, including resolving cancelation requests

• Inspecting and evaluating the performance of Pest Technicians

• Monitoring and maintaining inventory levels of pest control products

• Facilitating continual training of local sales and service teams

What do I need to be successful?

• An associate’s degree and a valid driver’s license are both requirements. (A four year degree is highly desirable)

• Having 1-2 years of related experience is very helpful, but not required

• Willingness to relocate is highly desirable

• You are able to effectively lead and motivate others

• You have strong communications skills – impersonal, written, presenting

• You are good at problem solving and coming up with practical solutions

• You are able to build rapport easily and establish trust with customers and employees

• You are detailed oriented and understand the importance of safety

• You have a good aptitude for basic/intermediate math-- necessary for doing calculations related to sales and service

• Of course, given our business, you should be comfortable working outside and in confined spaces like crawl spaces and attics when necessary

Base pay range: $60000 - $84000 / year

In addition to the base pay, a Colleague working in this role who has completed training may be eligible to earn additional monetary compensation including overtime, incentive and/or commission pay. Total annual earning potential may vary based on performance, assigned routes and achieving Key Performance Indicators ("KPIs").
