POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
Under the general supervision of the Plant Manager the Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for the management of the warehouse, inventory control, and production scheduling for the Maumee Facility. Overall, the Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing capacity/demand planning, ensuring all inventories on hand are handled properly in SAP, maintaining dock and storage facilities in an organized manner, and managing the flow of finished products to the warehouse. This position is responsible for inventory reconciliations while adhering to the JSOX guidelines and keeping inventories current by overseeing the MRP Controllers and Shipping/Receiving Supervisor, staging operations, and working closely with material handlers and warehouse/production employees.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Using leadership abilities, performance accountability, and situational appraisal methodologies - the manager must ensure the site achieves AOP Goals and Objectives Plans and organizes production activities to meet or exceed AOP goals specific to inventory management and short to mid-term production scheduling (Master and Finite Schedules) to achieve maximum OTIF results Participates in S&OP planning meetings as the expert on the production plan/schedule, capacity, and inventory control Is accountable for the safety performance areas of responsibility, including consistent effort and support for the site Manages all aspects of safety within the functional area of responsibility to assure conformance to policy and procedures for the office Delivers upon strict adherence to the Quality Management System (ISO) by maintaining and improving upon all facets of the QMS. Uses trailing indicators to identify areas of improvement Develops control plans to actively monitor leading indicators of performance throughout the facility Manages the site-owned raw material inventories and Vendor Owned Inventory program Interacts with vendors to balance consignment inventories. Communicates to resolution of any discrepancies through generally accepted inventory practices and SAP guidelines Monitors and maintains operational raw material and work-in-process inventory levels, as a site leader, adapts personal characteristics and execution to levels appropriate to the Maumee site Possesses full authority to make any decisions within the scope of authority (MRPs, Warehouse, Shipping/Receiving). Works collaboratively with the appropriate managers to resolve issues. Strong interaction with the Supply Chain and Quality Manager is a necessity Maintains high-level integrity and validity of all transactions within the ERP system Communicates effectively throughout all levels of the organization as to product performance versus planned –interaction with Product Management, Technology, and Finance is routine and expected Plans, coordinates, and executes physical inventory activities as required. Conforms to all GAAP and JSOX required reporting. Resolves (and documents) all discrepancies to reconcile and close the process
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree 5 -10 years of experience in a production environment with specific attention to production planning, inventory control, shipping and receiving, and people development skill sets Advanced SAP experience Experience in ISO 9001 and Six Sigma methodologies.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
APICS Certification CFATS compliance experience Batch Manufacturing experience
