Overview The web services manager directly oversees management of the web services division in the UF Health Jacksonville communications and marketing department. The candidate will work with the Associate Vice President of Communications and Marketing and the Director of Web Services in Gainesville in establishing vision and strategy for the team. The candidate serves as the lead project manager and web content strategist for website projects, responsible for planning, developing, and deploying websites, including preparation of content for web pages. Reviews progress, manages resources, and ensures overall quality of completed websites. The manager will be familiar with web content practices, web governance, information architecture, and industry best practices, and will research new techniques and best practices in these fields to communicate to the web services team, as well as UF Health clients Qualifications Required Education Bachelor's Degree Preferred Education BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mass Communications. Necessary Skills 1. Have excellent organizational skills and have a command of grammar and non-technical writing. 2. 3-5 years of experience with: a. Overseeing the entire life cycle of website development and deployment b. Modern content management systems, including but not limited to WordPress (experience with Craft CMS a plus) c. Search engine optimization white-hat techniques d. Website usability testing e. Section 508 accessibility optimization, along with top level knowledge of WCAG 2.0 considerations f. Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager 3. THIS POSITION IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MEETING THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE RULES OF UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA, 6C1-3.022 FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION; PAYMENT TO VENDORS; PAYMENT PROCESSING GUIDELINES, AS AMENDED, REGARDING THE APPROVAL AND/OR PROCESSING OF VENDORS' INVOICES AND/OR DISTRIBUTION OF WARRANTS TO VENDORS Required Experience Three to five (3-5) years of experience in content strategy and website oversight. Supervision Supervisory responsibility of 2 employees. The web services manager will meet with the immediate supervisor in a formal one-on-one meeting once per week, reviewing current projects and their status and assigning priority assignments. The supervisor will provide yearly goals and large-scale initiative goals and provide follow-up feedback on reaching those goals quarterly throughout the year.
