Job Title: Microbiologist – Quality Control (QC)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Microbiologist to join our Quality Control team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing laboratory testing, supporting method development and validation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This role plays a key part in maintaining product quality and supporting cross-functional project teams.
Key Responsibilities:Perform microbiological testing on raw materials, intermediates, and finished products in accordance with USP and regulatory requirements.Conduct method development, validation, and troubleshooting for microbiological assays.Support QC Chemists in method technology transfer and project preparation to ensure timely and smooth project execution.Perform environmental monitoring, including water sampling and testing.Execute microbial limits testing and interpret results accurately.Investigate out-of-specification results and deviations; complete CAPAs and manage change controls effectively.Maintain and ensure readiness of the microbiology laboratory, including inventory and equipment upkeep.Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) during customer and regulatory audits.Collaborate with production and formulation development teams to support microbiology-related projects.Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related scientific discipline.2+ years of experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or related regulated industry.Strong understanding of USP, FDA, and cGMP requirements.Hands-on experience with microbiological techniques and instrumentation.Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.Preferred Skills:Experience with environmental monitoring programs.Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).Prior involvement in regulatory inspections or audits.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
