Responsibilities:

Prepares culture media and reagents used in the analysis. Participates in quality programs such as proficiency, inter-, intra-lab testing, blind and parallel testing. Retains all records of data related to the performed test and test results, in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices, including the use of reagents and equipment. Complies with the established Quality Management System, PNS ISO/IEC 17025:2017 requirements and other government regulations and recognitions. Follows the established quality assurance and quality control programs. Submits, in a timely manner, fully accomplished job order report to Microbiology Technical Section Head for review and approval.

 

Other Duties:

Performs purity checking of reference cultures, and environmental monitoring (temperature and %RH) of microbiology rooms. Performs culture transfers, preservation and maintenance of seed lot system for reference cultures. Check and oversee the cleaning done by the laboratory aide. Performs Growth Promotion Testing (GPT) of newly opened batch of culture medium. Files pertinent documents related to procured reference cultures. Monitors and update inventory of lyophilized reference stock cultures, and inform TSH for replenishment of stocks. Performs other duties assigned by the Technical Section Head / General Manager

 

Authority:

Handles operation of all equipment in Microbiology section Use of Labware (LIMS) for sample batching, encoding and authorization of test results. Use of FLEX for encoding of purchases and PO requests. For authority to perform specific tests (refer to list of authorization) Acts as Deputy – Technical Section Head for the following activities: Report, review and authorize/certify microbiological test results. Oversee operations of the microbiology laboratory in absence of the Technical. Section Head.

Qualifications:

 

At least 2 years of experience in a microbiology laboratory or similar role. Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related field. Strong understanding of microbiological methods and GLP. Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standards and laboratory quality systems. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
