Role Purpose Statement:
Raw materials, finished product analysis at different stages in processing /production areas for microbiological parameters, carry out internal audits, ensure GMP & sanitization of processing area & impart trainings on microbial control and sanitization
Main Accountabilities :
Develop and implement microbiological testing protocols for raw materials, finished products, environmental samples, people and machinery. Conduct microbial analysis including culturing, identification and enumeration of micro-organisms. Monitor and report on microbial trends and anomalies in oils and fats products Collaborate with cross functional teams to investigate and resolve microbial contamination issues Implement and maintain sanitation an hygiene programs to prevent microbial contamination in processing areas Develop and implement protocols for margarin & whip topping product range including raw materials, finished products, people, machine, etc. Develop and deliver training programs for production staff on microbial control and sanitization Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards ( eg. FDA, FSSAI, GFSI,etc. ) Participate in audits and inspections to ensure facility compliance CIP – Ensure clearance of CIP programs wrt microbial requirements.
Dimensions
Clearance of product with respect microbial testing for raw materials, finished goods in the plant. Endorse cleaning, sanitization in processing and storage areas
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) :
Compliance of the products with respect to microbial requirements 100% adherence to sanitization and hygiene requirements Zero critical and major non-conformities during customer/regularity audits
Knowledge and Technical Competencies:
Masters or advanced degree in micrology, food science or related filed. Strong knowledge of food microbiology, microbial ecology, and sanitization Experience with microbiological testing methods ( eg. PCR, ELISA, culturing) Familiarity with HACCP, GMP and food regulations Excellent analytical , problem solving and communication skills 3-5 years of experience in similar filed as microbiologist.
