Job Description
Responsible for performing required microbiological testing of compounded sterile preparations (CSP) in accordance with established procedures.
ResponsibilitiesPerform routine preparation of samples and reagents used for testing analysis.Schedule samples based on priority.Perform standard testing of samples using various methods and instruments, including but not limited to Particulate Matter Testing, Sterility Testing, Endotoxin Testing, Container Closure Testing, Proficiency Testing, and Sample Validations.Analyze results of testing to identify concerns or issues and discuss with supervisor as needed.Report and document results following established procedures.Assist in writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions.Perform peer technical review for test results.Essential SkillsMinimum 1 year of bioburden/endotoxin testing (USP 61/62 and 85).Clean room/aseptic experience in a pharmaceutical or medical device aseptic environment.Experience with USP compendial testing in a FDA/GMP regulated facility.Microbiology laboratory skills.Aseptic technique.Quality control.Additional Skills & QualificationsSterility testing (USP 71) experience.Experience with cGMP.Technical writing skills.Bachelor's degree in a science-related field.At least 1 year of industry microbiology experience from the pharmaceutical or medical device industry.Work Environment
This role is based in a 3rd party testing laboratory with 20 employees. The microbiology team consists of a manager and 2 technicians. Work will be conducted in a clean room (ISO 5/7) environment. The company is in a growth phase, providing opportunities for professional development and involvement in new method development and SOP writing. The work environment is flexible, promoting a good work-life balance.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
