Your role at Baxter

Coordination of the microbiology laboratory activities. Ensure that good laboratory practices are followed. Ensure that procedures, methods, and practices are according to all applicable regulatory agencies. Regularly meets with peers and Supervisors to discuss work activities. Document investigations of Microbiology laboratory. Interact with other plant function and division personnel. Interact with regulatory agencies when required. Assist the supervisor as delegate. Perform, document and approved laboratory routine test.

What you'll be doing

Perform all the laboratory tests as require. Approved laboratory tests result and assure that they met the specification requirements.

Notify the laboratory supervisor if any out of limit is observed to initiate an investigation. Generate protocols as part of equipment qualifications and method validations.

Provide support on laboratory equipment validations / qualifications as required. Assure that all documentation is properly handled and filed and that Good Documentation Practices and GLP's are followed.

Facilitator in the coordination and planning of laboratory activities as required. Facilitator for training and audit activities.

Assist and/or  on Laboratory internal NCR's and documentation reports. Assure compliance with safety requirements.

Perform any other activity related to the laboratory. Perform SOP's audits, submit SOP changes electronically and approve SOP changes as require.

Deliver to Documentation Center COA of the Laboratory analysis related to finished product. Maintain microbiological inventory at optimum levels.

Generate Environmental and Product Trend as require. Perform Quarterly and Annual Plant Flora evaluation. Perform purchasing using the current Baxter System and give follow up.

Perform annual bioburden analysis. Support and perform in the generation and completion of the Trend Investigation.

Generate appropriate requisitions maintaining adequate inventory of materials and equipment. Perform microbiological testing pyrogen, water testing, compressed air systems and environmental systems, etc.

Operate different laboratory equipment (water bath, autoclave, balance, particle counter, biological safety cabinets, etc.) as per reference specifications, manuals and safety rules required.

Prepare, sterilize, and test all media needed for testing. Release media as appropriate. Perform any special testing and other duties related to responsibility area.

Printing and reconciliation of Forms from. Generate and evaluate laboratory investigations and /or exception records in electronic computerized system.

Responsible for Conducting EHS inspections to identify and correct safety hazards and environmental aspect. Follow the EHS applicable procedures and analyze EHS incidents (including near misses) to find causes and take corrective action.

What you'll bring

Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, Industrial Microbiologist or related field (Biology or Biotechnology) and 5 years or more in related experience in industry, specifically in Microbiology tests and techniques.

Self-motivated/Self Starter. Knowledge of GMP/ISO/CE and FDA requirements is desirable. Statistical Courses is also desirable. Knowledge on Microsoft Office software. Work under pressure. Willing to travel per Company needs including holiday and weekend.

Bilingual (English — Spanish) written and oral is a must.
