Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Microbiology Tech I to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will support a daily team of Technicians by collecting samples, testing in-process and finished samples, and performing various laboratory tasks. This role is essential in ensuring the quality and safety of our products through diligent testing and analysis.
Responsibilities
+ Collect and test in-process and finished samples.
+ Prepare media for laboratory use.
+ Collect and test daily water samples.
+ Make and record detailed observations.
+ Perform simple calculations accurately.
+ Support laboratory functions such as stocking and distributing supplies, and collecting, washing, and storing glassware.
+ Perform other tasks as needed.
Essential Skills
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
+ Ability to multitask effectively.
+ Proficiency in aseptic techniques.
+ Solid experience in microbiology.
+ Previous laboratory experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Associate degree with at least 2 years of lab experience (experience can be college lab work) or a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or Food Science.
+ Candidates graduating soon will be considered.
+ 0-2 years of relevant experience.
Work Environment
The work schedule includes options for shifts such as Sunday-Wednesday 10pm - 8:30am, Sunday-Wednesday 6pm-4:30am, and Wednesday-Saturday 6pm-4:30am. The laboratory environment requires adherence to safety protocols and aseptic techniques. The role involves handling various laboratory equipment and supplies, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00
