Microelectronics Engineer/Scientist
**Description** The Mission Capabilities and Concepts (MCC) division of Applied Research Associates, Inc (ARA) is seeking an energetic **Microelectronics Engineer/Scientist** to research and analyze strengths, weaknesses, threats, and opportunities within the global defense industrial base, recommend relevant prototyping efforts, craft relevant acquisition documents, evaluate proposed efforts, monitor program execution, conduct outreach efforts, and conduct site visits. The employee will support the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment’s (OUSD(A&S)) Industrial Base Policy (IBP) located at the Mark Center in Alexandria, VA. However, the role is hybrid with the opportunity to work at ARA’s offices, the Mark Center, and while teleworking. This position, expected to start in fall/winter 2024/2025, is contingent upon customer resume approval, a phone screening, position funding, and security clearance verification. This position will provide technical and programmatic support to the DoD’s Industrial Base Analysis and Sustainment (IBAS) program, supporting its Microelectronics Sector. This sector seeks to strengthen the Defense Industrial Base by strategizing and managing investments in the following areas: + Digital transformation + Semiconductors + Radiation-hardened electronics + RF technology **Required Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in a relevant STEM discipline such as electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, materials science and engineering, or industrial engineering. + DoD SECRET security clearance or higher + Must be a US Citizen + 5-7 years of professional work experience **Desired Qualifications:** + Master’s degree in relevant STEM discipline + Program management experience + DoD TOP SECRET security clearance + 8+ years of relevant experience + Demonstrated knowledge of the DoD acquisition process and planning, programming, budgeting, and execution (PPBE) + Knowledge of systems engineering concepts and methods **COMPANY INFORMATION:** Applied Research Associates, Inc. is an employee-owned international research and engineering company recognized for providing technically superior solutions to complex and challenging problems in the physical sciences.
