The Microsoft Exchange and Teams Engineer will work on our Infrastructure Services Team to support Plante Moran’s internal communications solutions, including Microsoft Exchange Online, email security, Microsoft Teams, voice services, video conferencing, and other communications solutions.  We are seeking a candidate that is passionate about IT, has a strong customer service focus, enjoys identifying and evaluating emerging technologies, and has a desire to work on impactful unified communications technology projects. 

 

Your role. 

Your work will include, but not be limited to:  

·      Responsible for designing, administering, and establishing system standards for messaging and communication team solutions including, but not limited to: 

o    Microsoft Exchange Online, and email security 

o    Microsoft Teams, with a focus on Unified Communications (Chat, Video, Voice, and Meetings) 

o    Voice, Video Conferencing, and Fax services 

·         Lead infrastructure and security related projects from idea generation to implementation, including selection, recommendation, design, testing, and implementation of various solutions. 

·         Provide support, analysis, and remediation on escalated support incidents from our help desk on Microsoft Exchange Online, Outlook, Email Security (Phishing, Malware, SPAM), Microsoft Teams (including voice), telecommunications services, video conferencing, and other communications solutions. 

·       Perform solution administration tasks, including reviewing and monitoring event logs/performance KPIs and baselines. 

·         Create and maintain accurate technical documentation. 

·         Manage and maintain positive working relationships with vendors. 

·      Develop and test disaster recovery, incident response, and business continuity plans; capacity planning and yearly budgeting. 

·          As-needed participation in after-hours maintenance windows to update, change, and install various systems.  

·         Occasional participation in the On-Call Rotation. 

 

The qualifications.  

o    Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business, or related major

o    The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience designing, implementing and maintaining Microsoft Exchange Online and email security solutions. 

o    Working experience with eDiscovery, Litigation Hold, and compliance processes 

o    Strong PowerShell scripting skills 

o    Knowledge of external email routing and configuration including MX records, SPF, DMARC, DKIM, etc. 

o    Entra ID and familiarity with the Microsoft 365 / M365 suite of solutions 

o    This position may require occasional travel. 

o    Knowledge of the following is not required, but will help you stand out: 

o    Microsoft Teams (Focus on Unified Communications - Chat, Meetings, Video, Voice, e911) 

o    Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking and familiarity with Quality of Service - QoS 

o    Microsoft Teams Room Systems and video conferencing room solutions
