Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Software Developer (C#) to assist with a military weapons system modernization effort. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining software systems that contribute to the development and accuracy of ballistic models and simulations. The Ballistics Kernel is a critical component in Army systems used for ballistics simulations, fire control, and predictive modeling. The developer will focus on creating high-performance and scalable solutions to model the physics and dynamics of ballistics accurately. This work directly impacts military readiness, ensuring accuracy in weapon systems and operational effectiveness. Day to Day * Write and optimize C# code for the ballistics applications. * Implement scientific computations and integrate physics-based models into the system. * Participate in Agile ceremonies (e.g., stand-ups, sprint planning). * Work closely with team members, domain experts, and stakeholders to refine features and resolve issues. * Build and improve WPF-based interfaces for configuring simulations and visualizing results. * Ensure the interface is intuitive and meets user requirements. * Develop and maintain SQL databases to support simulation inputs, configurations, and outputs. * Optimize queries and manage large datasets for performance. * Use GitLab and Subversion for version control. * Review team members' code and contribute to maintaining a stable codebase. * Perform unit and integration testing to ensure software reliability. * Debug and resolve issues in both code and system performance. * Create technical documentation for software features, APIs, and configurations. * Ensure documentation is clear and adheres to military and project standards. Skills and Requirements * Active Secret * BA in Computer Sciences * 4+ C# and .Net--building scalable applications tailored to computations and simulations and/or expereince developing core logic, integrated physics-based algorithms, building modular systems. * SQL Database Development--designing and optimizing database schemas, ensuring data integrity. Storing, managing, and retrieving large volumes of data in simulations like input parameters, results, and configuration settings. * Jira or Agile tools--managing tasks, sprints, and collaborative workflows, tracking project process, and ensuring timely delivery of features. * Gitlab and Subversion--source control, versioning, and maintaining a reliable code repository. * Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA) and/or SOLID design familiarity--ensuring that the codebase is modular, maintainable, and extensible. * Windows (primary), some Linux development environments * Master's degree * Strong knowledge in physics and mathematics with software development focused on computational scientific modeling and simulation. * Data Modeling experience--design data structures that support rapid calculations and queries in the application * Experience with Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) UI development--creating responsive and user-friendly desktop application interfaces and/or designing graphical user interfaces for configuring simulations * Knowledge in Army weapons systems and munitions null We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
