Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced Air Quality Technician/Source Test Technician to join our Southern California team in our Orange, CA office. The selected candidate will join AECOM’s EHS + Air practice within the Environment Business Line. The primary emphasis of the group is to support clients with their stack testing needs for a variety of federal, municipal, and private-sector clients.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience coordinating and conducting emission source testing in a variety of industrial settings. 

The successful candidate will also be able to:

Demonstrate experience in the operation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment.Coordinate and conduct source testing and emissions sampling.Demonstrate experience in preparing test plans, reviewing laboratory data and preparing reports.Must be able to travel locally as needed and regionally on occasion. This is a field position with approximately 80% of time spent in the field and 20% in the office or laboratory.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma plus 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in air quality compliance.Valid U.S. Driver’s License is required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review and a substance abuse test.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in science-related field is preferred.5+ years of air quality compliance experience.Demonstrated experience in maintaining and operating mechanical and electrical equipment period.Relevant experience that includes environmental testing or analytical laboratory or repair of instrumentation experience is desired.Knowledge in the practices required to generate valid scientific data.Able to work both independently and in a project team environment.Ability to record test data legibly, completely, and accurately.Aptitude for operation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment.Ability to recognize hazards and work safely in an industrial setting.Possess good written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated source testing experience within South Coast Air Quality Management District.Strong focus and attention to detail.Experience with continuous emissions monitoring systems (CEMS), EPA Methods and emissions monitoring equipment.QSTI certification
