Mid-Level Construction Inspector

Mead & Hunt has an exceptional opportunity for highly motivated construction inspectors for WVDOH projects in the eastern panhandle area of West Virginia. An Experienced Construction Inspector will be responsible for providing inspection services for transportation construction projects. They ensure all work and materials used are in compliance with the proposal, plans, and specifications. They may perform required calculations, take measurements, and verify weights and volumes as needed. They may plot and run cross sections and prepare "as builds" during progress of the project. They may perform materials testing. They will document inspected work daily. This position requires heavy lifting, working outside in a variety of conditions on a regular basis, and ability to perform work independently. Travel to construction sites throughout the state is an essential function of this position; a valid driver’s license is required. Extended hours and overnight stays may be required. Successful candidates will have the following: At least two applicable WVDOH Construction Inspection and Materials Testing certifications AND one of the following: A bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field OR An associate degree in construction management or related field plus at least two years of relevant experience OR No degree plus at least four years of relevant experience Ideal candidates will have any/all of the following: WVDOH construction inspection and materials testing certifications Working knowledge of WVDOH standards, specifications, and material testing procedures Working knowledge of AASHTOWare Project and PlanGrid would be beneficial Why Mead & Hunt?
