We are currently seeking a Mid level Commissioning Engineer to support commissioning activities on Enterprise, Colocation, and Hyperscale Data Center Projects. This is a junior to mid-level role, ideal for someone with prior exposure to mission-critical systems who is looking to further build their career in commissioning. You’ll work alongside senior engineers and commissioning leads to verify system performance, assist with field testing, and ensure quality documentation.
Responsibilities:
Assist with pre-startup and startup procedures for mechanical and electrical systemsSupport the development and execution of commissioning test procedures, SOPs, and MOPsHelp maintain commissioning logs, equipment checklists, and contribute to final reportingParticipate in the review of equipment submittals, drawings, and specifications to prepare for testingConduct or assist with functional testing on a variety of MEP systems, including HVAC, chillers, CRAC units, fire alarm systems, standby generators, UPS systems, switchgear, and PDUsSupport integrated systems testing and load bank testing effortsAttend project commissioning meetings and assist with scheduling of testing activitiesInterface with contractors, vendors, and project teams during testing and troubleshootingUse tools such as data loggers and power quality analyzers under the supervision of senior engineersAssist with the creation of commissioning documentation, including checklists, issue logs, and deficiency trackingMaintain knowledge of QA/QC procedures and follow internal commissioning standardsQualifications:
2–6 years of experience in a relevant engineering or technical role, ideally in MEP systems, electrical power, mechanical systems, or commissioning supportBachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering a plus, but not requiredData center or mission-critical facility experience preferred, even in a support or junior capacityKnowledge of electrical systems (UPS, switchgear, generators, PDUs) and/or mechanical systems (CRAC units, chillers, HVAC systems) a plusStrong organizational and documentation skills; familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and ProjectExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work in a field environment, follow safety protocols, and interact with a variety of stakeholdersFamiliarity with commissioning levels (L1–L5) a plus; willingness to learn and grow into higher-level responsibilitiesPrevious military experience is a huge plus! Candidates with electrical or mechanical experience in the Navy (Nukes, EMN, ETN, MMNs, Seabees), Army (Power Generation), Air Force (Power Production), Generator Techs, Coast Guard, or Army National Guard are highly encouraged to applyWillingness to travel as needed for project assignmentsSubmittal Instructions:
