We have a unique and exciting opportunity to join our Consulting group in the role of Electrical Engineering Lead for renewable energy projects. We are seeking detail-oriented professionals with solar and battery energy storage electrical engineering design experience.
This position is being added to support the continued growth of the Sargent & Lundy Consulting group, particularly in the renewable energy, battery energy storage, and utility planning / advisory practice areas. Our Consulting group works with clients across the United States and in numerous other countries.
This position will require a great deal of face-to-face interaction with power plant developers and owners, as well as lenders and investors, during the execution of consulting services work for the firm. The work environment in our Consulting group is fast-paced, dynamic, and interesting.
This position in Sargent & Lundy’s Consulting group will require you participate in our owner’s engineer engagements for utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects developed by our electric utilities and Independent Power Producers (IPPs) clients. Common tasks include:
Preparing solar and battery energy storage EPC RFP packages and associated technical specificationsEvaluating EPC proposals to assist selection of preferred EPC contractorsProviding technical support during negotiations of EPC contractPreparing or reviewing specifications such as main power transformerReviewing EPC contractor’s electrical engineering design drawing packages and supporting calculationsRenewable low-voltage (both DC and AC) systemsAC collection system for solar and batteriesCollector substation and interconnecting substation expansionGen-tie transmission QualificationsWe do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position.
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering designExperience in solar and battery energy storage projects as part of EPC team or Owner’s Engineer is a plus.Excellent verbal/written communication skills.Solid interpersonal skills and ability to work with and guide others.Sargent & Lundy is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
