**Job Description:**
Job Summary: The CDM Smith International Development Group is seeking a mid-level civil engineer to lead the planning and design of the critical water pipelines, reservoirs and pump stations infrastructure to convey the domestic water from the National Conveyor Project for distribution throughout the middle and northern governorates in Jordan. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in wet utilities design in the water and wastewater sector with a proven track record of managing projects and leading teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop detailed designs for water pipelines, including layout, sizing, and material selection.
• Perform hydraulic modeling and analysis to ensure efficient and reliable system performance.
• Prepare technical reports, design documents, and construction specifications.
• Conduct site assessments and field investigations to gather data for design and modeling purposes.
• Lead the collection of relevant data from governmental authorities and other stakeholders.
• Provide technical support during the construction phase, including reviewing submittals and responding to RFIs (Requests for Information).
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
• Collaborate closely with senior BWI and CDM Smith project staff and manage a project team, including engineers, international subject matter experts, subcontractors, drafters, and technicians, to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.
• Manage and mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Participate and lead client and stakeholder meetings and presentations to discuss project progress and technical solutions
• Serve as a point of contact for the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, USAID, and the water utilities,
• Serve as the local lead for the processes of project planning and design, and reporting.

**Minimum Qualifications:**
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in water/wastewater main pipeline design and hydraulic modeling.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., EPANET, WaterCAD, SewerCAD).
• Experience with Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and GIS applications for design, drafting, and spatial analysis.
• Familiar with industry codes and standards, including Jordanian regulations and international best practices.
• Strong understanding of water distribution and wastewater collection system design principles
• Proven experience in project management and team leadership. PMP certification is preferred, or willingness to obtain certification within one year of project commencement.
• Experience working in Jordan/ Middle East
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaboratively in a team and dynamic environment.
• Demonstrated capabilities to lead diverse, multidisciplinary teams and ensure successful project delivery.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Must be fluent in spoken and written English.
• Must be fluent in Arabic; a native Arabic speaker is preferred.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
• PMP certification is preferred, or willingness to obtain certification within one year of project commencement.
