KBR is seeking a Modeling And Simulation Engineer with in-depth knowledge of satellite relevancy to Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community unique missions to be part of our team supporting our customer in Chantilly, VA that delivers mission-critical capabilities directly supporting intelligence-gathering missions from overhead systems.  We lead architectural assessments and report recommendations to senior US Government personnel guiding acquisition and execution of next-generation SIGINT systems needs for the next 10-20 years.  These systems deliver collected data distributed to US Government Intelligence Community and Military users.

The Modeling And Simulation Engineer serves as a technical advisor to support the Government with performing analysis on complex space systems needs for the intelligence and DoD communities.  The SIGINT leadership team embraces innovation in a relentless effort to meet intelligence needs and shorten the timelines to provide actionable critical information to US Government decision-makers.  This is a position of trust advising the US Government and supporting critical missions in SIGINT, COMINT, FISINT, and ELINT. 

This is a contingent position based upon contract award

Specific responsibilities may include:

Supports mission analysis assessments and studies for the Program OfficeCoordinates assessments HIVE architecture impacts, architecture trades, and architecture performance assessments with the Enterprise, Chief Architect, Chief Engineer, and Program OfficeManages development, test, and validation of systems assessment methodologies and tools such as STK, SOAP, MATLAB, and potentially organically developed softwareAnalysis of space systems, performance metrics, timelines, and modelsIdentify and document issues impacting both spacecraft and ground systems through objective analysis and processesProvide pre- and post-algorithm implementation and process analysis and modelingProvide support to verification and validation of algorithms including tuning, testing, and integration planningSupport orbital analysis, including threats assessments/impacts, trades, and analysesCommunicate technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiencesInterface with customers, directorate/office representatives, and across system engineering groups to drive resolution plans and strategies for complex technical challengesGenerate and maintain technical documentation and reports

Minimum qualifications:

Active TS/SCI with PolygraphBachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred)5+ years of NRO experienceDetailed understanding of government satellite systemsInsight into SIGINT mission fundamentals, and ability to perform analysis on complex space systemsKnowledge of satellite relevancy to Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community unique missionsSolid understanding of Signals Intelligence satellite systems and architecturesExperience in Matlab, Python or similar
