Mid-Level Software Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Mid-Level Software Engineer to design, modify, develop, write, and implement secure and mission-critical software applications for DoD programs. The ideal candidate will work within cross-functional teams, provide technical support, and contribute to complex projects that enhance defense operations. Key Responsibilities: + Develop and implement software programming applications and operating systems for defense use. + Modify and enhance existing software solutions, ensuring optimal security and functionality. + Write, review, and maintain efficient, high-quality, and well-documented code aligned with DoD cybersecurity standards. + Provide technical consultation and troubleshooting on complex projects. + Coordinate work teams, mentoring junior developers and ensuring collaboration across departments. + Conduct software testing, debugging, and validation to ensure operational readiness. + Assist in software architecture decisions and secure software development methodologies. + Ensure compliance with DoD security protocols. Required Qualifications: + Active Secret Clearance: TS preferred + Education: + Bachelor's Degree with 3 years of software engineering experience OR + Master's Degree or higher with 1 year of experience. + Experience: + 3 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's Degree OR + 1 year of experience with a Master's Degree or higher. + Strong proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Java, Python, or embedded systems development. + Understanding of secure coding practices, software architecture, and software lifecycle management. + Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance. + Knowledge of military systems, DoD applications, and cybersecurity best practices. Preferred Qualifications: + Experience working with classified defense systems and DoD contracts. + Familiarity with cloud computing solutions for DoD applications (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government). + Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and secure software engineering methodologies. + Certifications such as Security+, CISSP, or DoD-approved software development credentials.
