Our Client, a Business/Productivity Software company, is looking for a Mid-Level Software Engineer for their Ann Arbor, MI location. Responsibilities: + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions. + Contribute to the design and development of ticket designs and technical solutions. + Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in Java + Build and maintain event-driven architectures using Kafka and other messaging systems. + Develop cloud-native applications on AWS, leveraging services for scaling and deployment. + Work with OpenSearch/ElasticSearch and Graph databases to manage and query large datasets. + Implement and maintain test-driven development practices, ensuring high code test coverage. + Mentor junior developers, providing guidance and promoting best practices. + Communicate effectively within the team, verbalizing progress, blockers, and solutions clearly and constructively Requirements: + 3-5 years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on back-end technologies. + Proficiency in modern Java 21 and experience with Kafka, AWS (cloud-native), and event-driven architecture + Experience with OpenSearch/ElasticSearch and Graph databases. + Strong foundation in object-oriented programming, clean code practices, and design patterns. + Hands-on experience with test-driven development and a strong focus on code quality and test coverage. + Excellent written English communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts and collaborate with international teams. + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field + Ability to hold strong opinions but engage in discussions with an open mind ("strong opinions, loosely held.
