Flexibility is available for a hybrid work environment (employee will need to live within commutable distance of the office). **Responsibilities** The Mid-Level Substation Design Engineer will share responsibility with the rest of the department to produce a product consistent with our mission statement and culture. They are expected to support the department in achieving its department goals, maintain our high-quality standards, promote internal teamwork, and meet the needs of our clients. Key responsibilities include performing and directing others in the detailed design of medium to extra-high-voltage utility substations. This includes, but is not limited to: + One-line, schematic, and wiring diagrams + SCADA and Communications + Station physical layouts, sections/elevations, and control enclosure details + Cable and conduit plans and details + Ground grid design and details + Foundation and structural plans and details + Lightning protection and yard lighting plans Additional responsibilities include: + Creating construction cost estimates and contracts + Preparing the Bill of Materials + Managing project scheduling and coordination, which includes site visits + Supporting quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) for client deliverables + Occasional travel will be required **Required Education/Experience** + BSEE (BS Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology) degree, from an accredited university, preferably with a power option + Experience in 15kV through 500kV substation design and IEEE/ANSI standards + Experience managing small project teams and serving as a substation design engineer for multiple projects concurrently + Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel + Legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship **Desired Education/Experience** + 5+ years of experience in utility substation design + Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certificate or successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam + Professional Engineering license (PE) strongly preferred, or ability to sit for the exam within 6 months + Managerial and leadership skills a plus POWER Engineers, Member of WSP, is a global consulting environmental and engineering firm and one of the top design firms in the energy sector.
