**Mid-Level Substation P&C Designer** Location **Madison** Job Code **17531** \# of openings **1** Apply Now (https://phh.tbe.taleo.net/phh04/ats/careers/v2/applyRequisition?org=POWERENGINEERS&cws=44&rid=17531) **Mid-Level Substation P&C Designer** **Job Summary** POWER Engineers, Inc. is currently seeking a mid-level Electrical Designer with experience in substation protection and control (P&C) design. This position is in the Power Delivery Substation Department in our Madison, Wisconsin office. This is an in-office position but flexibility is available for a hybrid work environment (employee will need to live within driving distance of the office). **Roles and Responsibilities** + Perform and direct others in the detailed design of medium to extra high voltage utility substations. + Perform detailed design of one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, protection schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA and communications. + Familiar with conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, AC/DC service calculations and selection of substation equipment. + The successful candidate shall be able to contribute to substation equipment specifications, proposal development, and project scheduling. + Occasional travel will be required. **Required Education/Experience** + Ability to function as a Mid Level Substation P&C Designer in our Madison, Wisconsin office. + Experience in 15kV through 230kV substation design and IEEE/ANSI standards. + Experience filling the role as substation designer for several projects occurring concurrently. + Four (4) or more years’ experience in utility substation design as outlined above. + The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel. + Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship. **Desired Education/Experience** + Experience in 230kV through 500kV substation design. + Experience with BIM style design software (AutoCAD Electrical and Vault).
