HX5 is currently seeking a qualified Mid-Level System Administrator in support of the MDA IRES program at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO. The Systems Administrator supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Administer the operations of computer systems related to operating systems, servers, and end-user workstations.Administer WSUS and SCCM servers for updating and patching of the domain.Perform hardening and remediation of operating systems and STIG compliance to reduce cybersecurity risks.Deployment and configuration of vCenter, Power Shell, and Ansible.Administer Container Platforms such as OpenShift, as well as maintain repositories/Registries.Experience managing a Linux workstation-based environment.Maintain and manage Secure Host Baselines for both Windows and LINUX.Conduct daily system monitoring, system backup and restoration, and application upgrades to ensure optimal and continuous system operations.Develop and maintain system administration procedures and baseline configuration documentation.Be responsible for ensuring system software installs, maintenance, break/fix activities, and cyber security mitigations are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures and service level agreements.Focus on creating, upgrading, managing and sustaining physical and virtual workstations and servers.

Be able to quickly learn challenging concepts, decompose difficult service problems and provide resolution.Be able to create and follow standard processes and clearly document results.Effectively function as self-starter and identify risks, issues, and opportunities to the System Administrator.Have excellent presentation, oral and written skills to facilitate effective and efficient interchanges with senior customer management and customers.Have a "can-do" attitude, be able to work in a very high pace and dynamic environment and embrace change.

Salary Information: This position is expected to pay $86,500 - $111,500 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

Education and Experience:

Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and eight (8) years of general experienceAssociate’s degree and six (6) years of general experienceBachelor’s degree and four (4) years of general experienceMaster’s degree and two (2) years of general experienceMust have 5 years of directly related experience to Windows systems administration and Active DirectoryMust have experience with WSUSMust have experience with SCCM, developing and executing powershell scriptsMust have experience managing Windows Active Directory and Group Policy ObjectsMust have a current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or higher (CCNA-Security CySA+ (formerly CSA+), GICSP, GSEC, Security+, CND, or SSCP)Must have a current DoD Secret security clearance

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: 
 

This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week and offers a flexible work schedule Monday through Friday during core business hours.

 Other Position Requirements:

Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance. Must be able to travel, including air travel.Must have a valid Drivers License.
