Ensure safety and compliance in the nuclear sector by developing and reviewing regulatory documents. You'll create and review submissions, conduct research, stay updated on industry trends, and monitor regulatory changes. Building and maintaining client relationships is key, as is providing input on project timelines and regulatory issues. You'll identify new licensing opportunities, review design modifications, and conduct safety evaluations.
ResponsibilitiesDue to continued growth, our Nuclear Services Group is seeking a License Renewal Engineer for Kennesaw, GA (HQ), Chattanooga, TN, or potentially remote for a SME in License Renewal. This position can be Full Time, Part Time, or LTLB.
Provide regulatory expertise to develop and review documents for submittal and/or presentation to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), other regulatory agencies, or clients, with accountability for accuracy and completeness of these documentsPerform independent research, reviews, studies, and analysis in support of regulatory/technical projects and programsMonitor changing regulatory trends and maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements, guidelines, practices, and industry standards of the nuclear industryReview, edit, and organize documents in the preparation of a large and complex nuclear license application, as well as, smaller technical submittals, topical reports, and white papersDevelop relationships with current and potential clients licensing staff with regular interface to ensure client satisfaction as well as pro-active identification of support opportunitiesProvide input to project/program work schedule regarding the duration/scope of regulatory issues and the time/scope/effort involved in resolving them in order to implement projectIdentify and develop licensing business opportunities for operating nuclear plants, new reactors, and other commercial nuclear facilitiesSupport/review studies, conceptual design, and plant modification packages for impact on licensing basis, and 50.59 screening/safety evaluations Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university AND 3+ years of experience in the nuclear industryMust have license renewal experience in the nuclear industryExcellent knowledge and understanding of regulations, regulatory agencies, and the regulatory processes supporting design and licensing of nuclear plants including the documentation that supports these processesMust possess knowledge and understanding of nuclear power plant design, and operationsPreparation of aging management program documents supporting license renewal implementationSite coordination of implementation of license renewal commitments and aging management programsPreparation of Integrated Plant Assessments, including the development of scoping, screening and aging management reviews of systems, structures, and componentsEvaluation and update of time-limited aging analyses (TLAAs) relative to the extended operating periodPreparation of License Renewal Applications (LRA) including FSAR update and support of the Environmental Report (Part 51) supplementAbility to represent ENERCON and/or clients at NRC, United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and other regulatory agencies meetings and workshopsMust have strong organizational and excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated competencies in technical writing, facilitation, and decision-makingAbility to work in time constraining regulatory environment while maintaining a quality productMust be able to work productively with other staff, at all levels, in a team environmentProvide direct project support as an individual contributor or team leaderTechnical proficiency in understanding general engineering, design, and the nuclear industry
