We are seeking a Mid-Sr. Systems Engineer to join a high performing agile team using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology. You will possess a high level of in-depth expertise necessary to design and develop new capabilities for a complex system with exacting interface, performance, and security requirements. You will provide system engineering expertise in several of the following areas: architecture, design, development, requirements analysis, data flow, network design/implementation, testing, and documentation. Responsibilities include supporting and providing guidance for system development and implementation planning through assessment of system engineering plans and system integration and test plans; supporting the development of system configuration documentation, including designs for capacity and performance planning; and performing engineering activities such as risk assessments and analyses of alternatives for a variety of system related issues and concerns. Responsibilities may also include helping to create test procedures and defining task success criteria.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities
Provide guidance and support for system engineering of large-scale systems, major system elements, and interfacing systems that are part of a large complex network environment with geographically distributed components.
Provide technical guidance and support for future system enhancements and design.
Update System Engineering Documentation.
Provide Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) or similar evaluation methodologies.
Interface with Program Management, System and Software Integration Engineers, Test Engineers, Information Assurance Engineers, and other project team members in an Agile environment.
Develop and implement system engineering practices ensuring the proper degree of engineering rigor is applied to all assigned tasks.
Communicate with and effectively collaborate with internal technical professionals on a day-to-day basis, and with representatives from customer organizations when necessary.
Actively participate in program increment planning and related Agile team activities.
Provide hands on technical assistance to engineering teams for data gathering and auditing purposes throughout multiple data centers.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Engineering Science, Computer Science, or a related field, and at least 8 years of related experience. Additional relevant work experience may be substituted for a degree.
Must have in-depth experience in several of the following areas: system architecture, design and development, requirements analysis, data flow design/analysis, network design/implementation, testing, technical system documentation.
Must have experience or strong familiarity with with data centers and/or server rooms, to include: Rack based Servers, Network Switches, KVM's, Routers, Backup and Recovery devices, Firewalls, and security appliances.
Must have at least 1-3 years of experience with infrastructure components (Servers, Switches, Firewalls, and other Enterprise Infrastructure hardware).
Must have at least 7 years of experience working on system architecture design, building, and integration.
Must have at least 5 years of experience working on large complex system architectures.
Must have requirements verification traceability experience.
Must have experience analyzing user requirements, system architecture, and/or system requirements specifications.
Must have experience in discovery, research and analysis for hardware and software transitions.
Must have experience gathering information related to the lifecycle of equipment and software.
Must possess a solid understanding of secure systems engineering and development.
Must be comfortable working on multiple systems and components simultaneously in various configurations.
Must be able to effectively plan and prioritize tasking and communicate clearly regarding technical options and trade-offs.
Must be capable of performing systems engineering activities in support of Agile teams on a large program.
Must be committed to adopting, adhering to, and championing best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
In-depth experience transitioning legacy systems to new architectures.
Experience with model-based systems engineering.
Experience with risk management/risk register.
Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology or as a member of an Agile team.
Experience working as an admin on Windows Server and Linux Server platforms.

Pay Range:Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
