MidCorp Transformation Manager

Our team is committed to drive the Business Transformation Initiative across AZ Commercial, steering the implementation of Business Master Platform (BMP),  the most competitive, digital and data-driven Commercial Business Model at scale towards the Mid Corp OE, aiming a global business harmonization and at the same time reflecting all local particularities. 

We are underwriting professionals, who know the business and what is needed to drive Underwriting Excellence in Commercial Insurance in a state-of-the-art platform.

The Impact You Will Have 

• You will be the contact partner for selected MidCorp OE(s), liaise closely and build strong relationships with OE MidCorp Experts/Underwriters for the respective line of business (Property).

• You will work closely with MidCorp OE counterparts to collect and moderate business requirements and ensure adherence to global target picture.

• As part of the step-by-step Commercial Transformation, you will support the roll-out of OEs, collaborate with MidCorp OEs to define transformation roadmaps with clear, actionable measures aimed at delivering short-term benefits and laying the groundwork for the BMP Commercial rollout. The role also involves fostering strong, collaborative relationships with MidCorp OEs, AGCS, H4, and other Allianz Group entities to jointly develop and implement a unified MC Commercial Underwriting Workbench for Underwriters.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

• Define and continuously adapt the Integrated business model with a focus on underwriting excellence, ensuring alignment with future Global Commercial business model and target processes with a strong focus to Property line of business.

• Coordinate translation of the business requirements in functional requirement to develop standardized user stories for the development teams.        

• Liaise with CUO Area and MidCorp OEs to ensure the integration of business model and processes for respective lines of business (Property).

• Steer local Business Owners in OEs, in collecting and prioritizing business requirements. Ensure adherence to global guidelines and target processes.

• Manage the rollout of the MC Commercial Underwriting Workbench, ensuring alignment with strategic transformation roadmaps and ongoing monitoring of progress.

• Own and manage the Allianz Product Library (APL) for Commercial MC Global Property Master Product, ensuring compliance with ACM master products and processes.

• Ensure Commercial Area transformation priorities are reflected in Strategic and Planning dialogues within OEs, supporting OE onboarding and project timeline alignment.

• Proactively manage stakeholder relationships, align with Commercial business counterparts and key stakeholders (e.g., AZ SE, AZ Technology) to define priorities and ensure compliance with the global business model.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

• University degree in economics, engineering or business administration with insurance focus / equivalent job experience in the insurance industry

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in Underwriting (preferably Property) at local/global level is required.

• Very good understanding of cross-lob commercial lines insurance products

• General IT knowledge and understanding with know-how and skills in agile development

• Absolute “can do” attitude, high degree of motivation and entrepreneurial thinking, readiness to travel (if appropriate)

• Agile workstyle, high level of customer centricity and strong collaboration skills, the ability to work both independently in own area of expertise and cross-functional as part of a team

• Fluent English (written and spoken). Additional core market language skills (I, E, F) would be beneficial.

• Change Management: Expertise in stakeholder management, navigating the change curve, and effective communication.

• Stakeholder & Expert Management: Strong ability to manage senior stakeholders and recognized as a subject matter expert in the commercial community.

• Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Proficient in benchmarking, KPIs, and data-driven decision-making.

• Teamwork: Strong teamwork skills are essential, as the role requires effective collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals and drive success.
