Middle Office, Vice President

Who we are looking for

Looking for a hands-on manager who will be able to support middle office / post-trade functions for a major asset manager client.  Expertise is required in one of the following functional areas: trade management / settlements, corporate actions, accounting, reconciliation, performance, dynamic and static reference data.  Product expertise is expected in securities [equities / fixed income], derivatives and FX.  The ideal candidate will address both daily production issues as well as internal/external escalated items in a time sensitive manner, interface daily with various client teams inclusive of the trade floor, and lead IT and Business projects which cultivate new/existing workflows and operations infrastructure.  The candidate will also provide leadership of a diverse group of professionals across multiple locations.

What you will be responsible for

As Unit Manager, Vice-President you will

Subject matter expertise in at least one functional area: trade management / settlements, corporate actions, accounting, reconciliation, performance, dynamic and static reference data

Manage the specific functions within your particular area of expertise including transaction processing, exception resolution and query management

Monitor work queues and ensure critical deliverables are met on time and with quality

Lead/Manage multiple business teams across multiple locations

Cultivate and develop both associates and the direct management team

Lead IT projects associated with enhancing existing workflows and creating new workflows supporting new financial products

Client facing escalation contact

Leverage market relationships, interfacing with counterparties to prevent and resolve issues

Use a metrics-based performance review process to manage service levels

Report directly to Sr. Management and collaborate daily on items and projects impacting the broader firm

 

What we value

These skills will help you succeed in this role

Existing industry broker and custodian relationships

Industry knowledge of end to end middle office services / asset manager servicing

Expertise in understanding critical components of a middle office technology stack – reference data, transaction engine, asset servicing, reconciliation, accounting, performance

Strong Critical Thinking and ability to multi-task effectively

Technical aptitude with a desire to become a subject matter expert on products under management

Ability to manage both large and smaller scale initiatives with minimal oversight

Strong leader and proven ability to professionally develop all members of their reporting line

Microsoft Office proficiency

 

Education & Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree requested

7-10 years of relevant industry experience required

Additional Information

Required to be in office 4 days a week

Salary Range:

$100,000 - $160,000 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
