You Are:

UST is seeking an experienced Middleware Consultant with expertise in Liferay development to join our dynamic team. As a Middleware Consultant, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional digital solutions to our clients, leveraging your technical knowledge and Liferay development experience. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain middleware solutions that enhance the performance and functionality of our clients' systems.

 

The Opportunity:

·       Hands-on developer with extensive experience in back-end content management software development and solutioning

·       Middleware Design and Development: Lead the design and development of middleware solutions using Liferay technology to meet client requirements and business objectives.

·       Technical Consultation: Provide expert guidance and consultation to clients and internal teams on middleware architecture, best practices, and Liferay development.

·       Customization: Customize and extend Liferay features, portlets, and plugins to create tailored solutions that address specific client needs.

·       Integration: Integrate Liferay with other systems, applications, and third-party APIs to ensure seamless data flow and functionality.

·       Performance Optimization: Identify and address performance bottlenecks in middleware solutions, implementing optimizations for improved efficiency.

·       Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnose and resolve complex middleware-related issues, providing ongoing support and maintenance to ensure system reliability.

·       Documentation: Create comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, user guides, and best practices.

·       Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, architects, and project managers, to deliver high-quality solutions on time and within budget.

 

 

This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.

 

What You Need:

·       Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

·       A Master's degree is a plus.

·       6 to 8 years of experience in middleware development, with a focus on Liferay.

·       Proven expertise in Liferay development, including custom portlet development, theme development, and Liferay DXP. Strong knowledge of Java, J2EE, and related technologies.

·       Experience with middleware technologies such as ESBs, message brokers, and application servers.

·       Proficiency in web services, RESTful APIs, and integration patterns.

·       Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.

·       Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

·       Relevant certifications in middleware and Liferay development are a plus.

·       Must be willing to travel 10-15% of the time for meetings and JAD sessions.

 

 

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Role Location: Virginia

Compensation Range: $95,000-$143,750

 

 

Benefits

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.

Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) program with employer matching. Part-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).

All US employees who work in a state or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
