About the Job
As a DBA, you will be responsible for maintaining operational efficiency of on-premises SQL Databases with opportunities to support Amazon SQL RDS. You will be embedded in an application scrum team working on a large-scale application. Your expertise in SQL Server query optimization and performance tuning will be instrumental in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of our data systems. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in database administration with at least 4-7 years of experience in production support.
Responsibilities:
Administer and maintain SQL Server databases through development and production environments, ensuring high availability and optimal performance. Implement and oversee policies and procedures for database security and integrity. Manage backups, data recovery, and data migrations to ensure data integrity. Address and resolve database performance issues, optimizing systems for reliability and speed. Collaborate with IT teams to align database management with organizational goals and assist with system upgrades. Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for database related issues. Assist in the planning and implementation of database changes and new deployments. Replication monitoring and support.Work closely with data engineering to design and implement data models that align with business requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. 4-7 years of proven experience in database administration, specifically with Microsoft SQL Server. Strong knowledge of database structure systems and data management. Experience with Replication, database performance tuning and troubleshooting. Experience with data backup, recovery, security, and integrity practices. Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with various teams within the organization.
Nice to Have:
Knowledge of cloud-based database solutions (e.g., Amazon RDS, Azure SQL Database). Experience with other database technologies (e.g., MongoDB). Experience with Geo Spatial data and queries Experience managing SSRS in a production environment.
