**MIG Welder**
**Job Description**
The Welder/Fabricator supports and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives and strives to improve safety, quality, and efficiency in all areas of responsibility. The Welder/Fabricator is responsible for the set up and welding of parts according to blueprint or schematic requirements. The Welder will also assist with operation, assembly and other warehouse duties as needed.
**Responsibilities**
+ Set up and weld parts according to blueprint or schematic requirements.
+ Perform MIG welding and tack welding.
+ Assist with operation, assembly, and other warehouse duties as needed.
+ Support and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Strive to improve safety, quality, and efficiency in all areas of responsibility.
**Essential Skills**
+ 2+ years of experience with MIG welding.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
+ Mechanically inclined, production oriented, and safety and quality conscious.
+ Basic math skills.
+ Understanding of devices such as micrometers, calipers, straightedges, and other various measuring tools.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience with grinders, MIG welding, CNC, machinist, lathe, blueprint reading, fabrication, TIG welding, flux core welding, stainless steel, structural welding, grinding, tape measure, sheet metal, and mild steel.

**Work Environment**
The work environment is not temperature controlled, being very hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The facility is a steel factory that receives large steel plates and ships out steel parts. Most people start out in the tack welding section, where it can be hot, and attention to quality is extremely important.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of MOUNT STERLING, Kentucky.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
