The Military Engines Safety group is looking to expand its team, and this is your opportunity to work on the most advanced Fighter and Mobility Engines in the world! This role is an essential position to keep the warfighter flying and enable our armed forces and foreign partners to complete their missions without delay. The Safety team is seeking a motivated and impactful individual to aid in the assessment and management of flight safety related events. The candidate will be an experienced, innovative, and hands-on individual who is passionate about safety in the aerospace industry.
In this Role, you will be responsible for:
What You Will Do:
Perform quantitative safety risk assessments on Military Engines- F100, F117, F119 and F135 models; this includes coordination across functional teams and technical experts to identify and document engine level and aircraft event hazard and manage these hazards within the Safety Issue Management Process
Create quantitative models blending engineering insights and statistical methods to enable decision making to execute the required actions to maintain fleet safety
Produce detailed documents addressing the inputs and outputs of assessments
Contribute to the overall System Safety team responsibilities for sustaining world class safety and promotion of the safety culture
Arrange, facilitate, and contribute to safety related meetings and presenting results to individuals in multiple levels of management, aircraft manufacturers, USN/USMC/USAF customers, as well as Boeing, Lockheed and the Joint Program office
Function as a military engines lead; execute program level reviews, Internal Safety Reviews and serve as interface between the PCE, CIPT and IPMT.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Engineering, Mathematics or associated STEM field
5 + years’ experience in systems or engineering in the aerospace, automotive or maintenance sector (or similar experience), or 3 years with an advanced degree.
US Person or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.
Proficient in working across functional teams to drive analysis of complex systems.
Experience in analysis of safety critical systems or components.
Ability to understand failure modes and concepts
Qualifications We Prefer:
Strong analytical background, preferably with computer programming experience (VBA, Fortran, R, Matlab, etc.)
Knowledge of Weibull statistical technique and Minitab functions
Strong technical writing skills (MS Office)
Effective listening and communication skills

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
