GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under regular supervision, and according to established procedures, performs a variety of milk bank support procedures including assisting in donor screening process, intake of donor human milk (DHM), processing DHM, dispensing pasteurized DHM, and performing routine sanitation of milk processing areas. Interacts with donors, patients, caregivers, and staff in a courteous and professional manner.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree preferred. Experience in applied science or food safety. Experience in laboratory setting, biological research, or food processing preferred. Minimum of two (2) months of training and experience in phlebotomy preferred. Training and experience can be obtained in a formal program or in a volunteer program under the oversight of an experienced phlebotomist who supplies a reference preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology preferred. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and demonstrate exceptional customer service skills.CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Food Safety Manger certification within three (3) months of hire. Good Manufacturing Practices certification within three (3) months of hire. For assignments requiring travel off-site, candidates must possess and maintain a valid Michigan motor vehicle license and reliable transportation with insurance.
