DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Handcrafted door manufacturingPlan joints, assemble parts and perform partial assembliesSandblast wood surfacesReinforce joints in casementsOperate woodworking machines such as power saws, varlopes, mortisers, shapers and use hand tools to cut, shape and form partsFinishing touches on surfacesStudy plans, specifications or drawings of items to be manufactured, or prepare specificationsMark outlines or dimensions of parts on woodUse woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, mortisers and routers, and hand tools to cut, shape and form parts and componentsTrim joints and assemble parts and subassemblies to form a complete unit using glue and clamps, and reinforce joints using nails, screws or other fastenersSand wood surfaces and apply veneer, stain or varnish to finished productsRepair or remodel wood accessories and related productsEstimate the quantity, type and cost of materials required.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Be able to take accurate measurements using a tape measure and calipers.Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.Must have basic reading and writing skills.Must be able to add and subtract fractions and whole numbers and convert fractions to decimals.Ability to read, follow and understand written and oral work instructions.Ability to diagnose and carry out minor wood repairs.Ability to read, follow and understand work instructions.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
