Tradesmen International is immediately hiring skilled Journeyman Millwrights for projects located in and around Chesapeake, VA. This is a first shift opportunity with a pay rate of up to $27/hour based on experience & skill level.  If you are a Millwright and want to work alongside other proven craftsmen who emphasize safety, productivity and superior craftsmanship, this is your chance to advance your career! 

 

Job Scope:

Disassembly and reassembly of motors, pumps, and generators Troubleshoot oil leaks, vibration problems, etc. Perform test runs on rebuilt motors Miscellaneous mechanical tasksWork with and around radioactive materials Troubleshoot oil leaks, vibration problems, etc.Perform incoming and outgoing test runs on motorsService paper mills, power plants, water treatment plants, etc.Removal & re-installation of equipment serviced in shop; electric motors, pumps, gearboxes, etc.Utilize basic rigging skills to safely move equipment on and off foundations and transportation meansPrecision alignment of rotating equipmentUse dial indicator & laser alignment equipment Perform mechanical diagnostics on operational equipment utilizing vibration analysis with along with physical inspection and visual examinationWork on existing equipment in customer facilities; perform in place repairs and field maintenance Interface with end users/customers to assist in determining the cause of mechanical failures and to help produce proactive solutions to mechanical failuresOther tasks as assigned

Requirements:

5+ Years of Experience in the trade2+ Years working in a Mechanical EnvironmentMust be familiar with an industrial Safety Environment Knowledge of Rigging Practices High Mechanical Aptitude HS Diploma Degree or Equivalent Drug Screen & Background CheckBasic Electrical Skills & Knowledge Preferred Must know how to safely operate a ForkliftMust be familiar with the use of an overhead crane and basic riggingMust understand, use, & adherence of written work instructionAbility to read drawings and interpret specificationsMust be willing to work OT as neededAbility to lift up to 50lbsHand Tools Excellent verbal and written communication skillsMust have a clean driving record Company Details
