The candidate will report to the SSC/CGM as part of the MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (MSEIT) Sustainment Integrated Product Team (IPT), Sustainment Futures section. The candidate’s work of extracting data, researching capability modernizations, and tracing requirements to MILSATCOM capabilities in the portfolio will complement team members’ efforts in constructing a 10-year capabilities roadmap. The candidate will also facilitate modernization/enhancements for legacy systems, support the Director’s initiatives, and maximize cross-program efficiencies internal to the current portfolio. The position requires the candidate to explore military/commercial capabilities in the industry, understand the technical aspects of integrating these capabilities to existing military infrastructure, and provide recommendations to the government customer for potential contract actions to build a more resilient portfolio of space-based telecommunications. This candidate will be an integral part in the development of the SSC/CGM 10-year Roadmap and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), capturing new MILSATCOM/COMSATCOM capabilities transitioning to operations and sustainment. This effort is expected to result in efficiencies which will lower total life-cycle costs, recognize quantifiable benefits to Joint and Allied warfighters, and increase overall combat readiness.
