Description Under general supervision, plans and performs Mining Engineering duties related to development and production at assigned site. Develops mining plans based on all available geological information to support short and/or long range planning and production goalsParticipates in Engineering feasibility studies to define proper mining methods, equipment selection, mine site facilities, and manpower and production requirementsAssists in the preparation of detailed ore reserve estimatesMonitors mining methods and equipment to improve performanceEnsure maximum productivity and extraction rates by optimizing mining methods, procedures and equipmentAssists in developing and managing mine, mine ventilation, waste dumps and stockpile designsRecommends courses of action designed to eliminate potential production problems and to improve safety, operational efficiency, control production costs and protect the environmentWorks with Geologists in exploration and assists in the Engineering phase of developments and operational activitiesMonitors mine ventilation and air quality at working sites throughout the minePerforms other duties as requiredQualificationsMinimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mine Engineering or related Engineering discipline and three (3) years of related experience in Engineering, ORMaster's degree in Mine Engineering or related Engineering discipline and two (2) years of related experience in EngineeringKnowledge of the principles and practices of Mine EngineeringAble to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusionsAbility to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautionsSkilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazardsAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writingCriteria/Conditions Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in EnglishAbility to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standardsMust be able to work in a potentially stressful environmentWork is in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particlesWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and seeOccasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects up to thirty (30) pounds during the course of the workdayPersonal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as requiredWhat We Offer You
The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $87,000-$121,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
