Dimensions
Oversee maintenance supervisors, planners, technicians, and hourly staff.
Purpose
The Maintenance Supervisor serves as a “developmental position” (main goal development of skills) and serves as an “advisory position” (main goal knowledge transfer). This position should be a temporary/transitional position.
Essential Duties
1. Support the supervision of the production/maintenance department which includes assigning work, encouraging team involvement, completing the performance management process for all foremen, scheduling work and developing and following the department's budget.
2. Support foremen in the resolution of employee relations issues through effective remediation techniques. Utilize human resources and/or general foreman to assist in solving unresolved work related problems.

4. Coach foremen through the operational problem solving process to identify problem areas and solve them
5. Assume the General Foreman responsibilities during his/her absence.
6. Communicate with other departments to assist in problem solving
7. Initiate process changes to continually improve efficiencies.
8. Train foremen to develop and follow the department's budget.
9. Assist in developing departmental procedures and practices.
10. Provide technical assistance and support to foremen.
11. Monitor safety and environmental compliance.
12. Train foremen to analyze production results.

15. Ensure department’s compliance with the requirement of Government of Suriname’s Agencies, Surgold’s lending institutions, shareholders’ environmental, health and Safety legislation and company regulations.

Training & Experience
• The Maintenance Supervisor is required to have a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 5 years of experience in process, mine or maintenance or 10 years of mining experience in process, mine or maintenance is required.
• The Maintenance Supervisor must have proven people development skills (assessment of others, feedback/coaching, delegation, motivating others, performance management, communicating expectations), interpersonal skills (relationship building, teamwork, personal insight, conflict resolution, customer orientation), communication skills (verbal communication, listening, written communication, on-the-job training) and leadership skills (team development, ability to influence).
• Excellent English Language Skills are required.
Working Conditions
• The Maintenance Supervisor must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
• The Maintenance Supervisor must wear personal protective equipment including steel toe shoes, half-face respirator, safety glasses, earplugs, long sleeved shirts, gloves or any other equipment to perform duties safely.
