About the Role


 We are enthusiastically seeking a talented professional to lead the mine planning team in the role of Manager Mine Planning – this is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of mining, as a key member of the senior leadership team. Reporting to the General Manager Caval Ridge Mine, this is an exciting key leadership role, accountable to provide strategic direction for the mine, excellence in mine planning services to our customers, and steward technical capability to support the operation. 

 
You will shape and drive improvement through a team of technical experts, and be instrumental in influencing our future business outlook. You will work with our stakeholders at sites and across supporting functions to develop optimised mine plans across tactical and strategic time horizons, and ensure that opportunities are assessed appropriately for plan inclusion or further study.  You will hold responsibility for the safe performance of your team, to optimise departmental cost efficiency, and to continue to build a supportive and performance oriented culture within your team. 
 
 

About You


 You will hold a Bachelor of Engineering degree, majoring in mining or geotechnical engineering.

You will have a passion to build, shape and support our multi-disciplined, diverse team as we strive for high performance, embracing inclusivity and valuing diversity, technical expertise and leadership. 
You will have a collaborative approach, with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholder groups and positively influence outcomes. You will proactively identify and manage all relevant risks within your work area and make decisions that balance risk and reward. 
 
Additional desirable skills include: 

•    Dragline strip mining operation and technical knowledge
•    Strong commercial/financial acumen
•    Experience in strategic planning, studies or projects
•    Ability to build capabilities within a diverse, technical team. 
•    Understanding and exposure to autonomous haulage would be advantageous
