The Support and Development Center provide services to Agnico Eagle's various Canadian and / or international mining operations in a variety of areas, including administration, financial services, IT, supply chain, human resources, communications, construction as well as technical services (geology, engineering, metallurgy, infrastructure, marketing, innovation, and digital transformation).

Under the supervision of the Mining Engineering Assistant-Superintendent, the Senior Mining Engineer will report to the Technical Services Department. As a Senior Mining Engineer, you will be at the heart of Agnico Eagle's strategic evolution by participating in the development of various projects through the estimation of mining reserves, the development of mining methods, detailed mine planning, economic evaluation and the production of Long Term Mine Plans (LOM). Using your leadership and experience, you will support the various divisions of AEM. You will participate in innovative projects, support the implementation and use of software. You will work on open pit and underground projects, located in various regions or countries.

 

Specifically, you will\:

 

Elaborate mining concepts and LOM of various mining projects in development or extension phase; Optimize mining plans to ensure worker safety, identify the best mining approach and thereby achieve profitability in various projects; Participate in project evaluations with the goal of potentially acquiring new properties; Participate in the economic evaluation (OPEX & Cashflow) of various projects or mining potential for underground and open pit operations; Participate in innovation and digital transformation projects; Participate in the writing of technical studies (PEA, PFS and FS in the NI 43-101 format); Participate in the evaluation of resources and reserves of various projects or mining potentials; Evaluate and optimize various aspects of operations\: ventilation, drilling & blasting, ground control, loading & hauling, equipment selection. *

Conceptual thinking; Leadership skills; Able to manage stress and prioritize; Able to adapt to various changes; Curious about new technologies and innovation projects;

 

 

Your Work Schedule

Schedule\: 40 hours per week, from Monday to Friday. Possibility of 5-2-4-3 schedule; Workplace\: Possibility to work in one of AEM's offices closer to your residence in Rouyn-Noranda, Val-d'Or, Mirabel or Toronto. There is a possibility to have a hybrid work schedule, working some days from an AEM office and some days in telecommuting.

 

* University degree in mining engineering; Five to seven (5 - 7) years of experience in mining (open pit or underground); Membership in a professional order (e.g. OIQ); Ability to use mine design and planning software such as Deswik and Datamine; Knowledge of simulation software such as HaulSim and VentSim would be an asset; Available to travel to various AEM sites occasionally; Proficiency in the use of the English language as you will be working in collaboration with other Agnico Eagle sites where English is the primary language; Speaking French and Spanish is a major asset; Strong analytical and synthesis skills; Self-sufficient and organized; Strong teamwork skills; Strong communication skills.
