The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine.
We’re seeking a Mining Ventilation Engineer to design, implement, and maintain underground ventilation systems that ensure a safe and compliant work environment. This role involves ventilation planning, monitoring airflow and air quality, and ensuring systems align with operational and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and maintain primary and secondary ventilation systems
Conduct regular inspections and airflow/contaminant measurements
Analyse ventilation performance data and recommend improvements
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and prepare reports
Support mine planning with ventilation and emergency inputs
Manage ventilation equipment supply and maintenance
Use modelling tools to optimise system performance and explore new technologies
QualificationsTechnical Skills & Experience
Strong understanding of drilling and blasting principles
Experience with explosives management
Proficient in ventilation modelling software (desirable)
Experience with Deswik.CAD (desirable)
Previous underground metalliferous mine ventilation experience (desirable)
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related field (essential)
Registered Ventilation Engineer (essential)
