Dow has an exciting job opportunity for an Emergency Services and Security (ES&S) Dispatcher located in Midland, MI.

About You and This Role:

You will share responsibility for the implementation of the emergency services and security (ES&S) management system in order to meet business objectives and to maintain the license to operate. You will provide hands-on emergency services and security activities for a specific plant. You will be require to have broad technical skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to perform a defined array of activities. You may act as an informal resource for team members with less experience.

Responsibilities:

Contributes to the development of documented equipment maintenance, training and operational check requirements and amending, as needed, to match global/local templates. Ensures that all maintenance training and operational check requirements meet global/local templates and that all emergency preparedness tasks performed are value adding leading to all emergency systems/equipment being ready for any emergency response.Contributes to developing operating discipline and using it to conduct emergency preparedness work and document performance.Checks emergency preparedness task list annually to confirm tasks are value adding.Completes the emergency preparedness tasks as per the site ES&S Preparedness Plan including Operating Discipline.Provides feedback regarding any discrepancies to the proper step in the site ES&S Preparedness Plan.Enacts emergency response plans.Executes the applicable scenarios from the emergency response plan or the alternate response plan and use operating discipline to complete the response to the emergency.Works with all security personnel in the preparation of secure asset plans and the development of operating discipline to execute secure asset tasks.Answers all incoming emergency and non-emergency calls, collects necessary information on location, nature of incident and status, and other pertinent information, determines the priority of the call. Answers medical calls, collects appropriate information on the medical emergency, determines priority of the calls and which emergency response units will respond.Operates radio to dispatch appropriate units by priority and availability. Utilizes familiarity with several radio frequencies and the ability to tone out or page the appropriate agency, communicates with field units using the appropriate terminology and technology.Ability to learn new systems quicklyStrong written and verbal communication skillsGood interpersonal skills are requiredMust be able to read, write, and speak EnglishMust be able to multitask in a high-level demanding environment.

Required Qualifications

A minimum of a High School Diploma or GEDA minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel.Must have the ability to work a full shift, come to work on time, work overtime and holidays as needed and the ability to work according to the necessary schedule to meet job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation is an essential function of this position.A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
