Join our integrated government-industry team as a Missile Acquisition Systems Engineer in Arlington, Virginia where you will help manage the development, production, and ship integration of systems into existing and new surface ship classes. Serco provides technical support to its customer, a defense acquisition program management office, which is responsible for the development, acquisition, production, fielding, and lifetime support of surface ship missile and launcher systems. This senior-level position has aspects of defense acquisition management, systems engineering, software program management, and other related skills.
In this role you will:
Assist the program office with technical oversight of the development of complex weapons systems including upgrade of system hardware and software.Support weapons systems safety by coordinating the effort of the acquisition and technical team, collecting documentation, developing presentation material, attending safety reviews, and responding to safety-related actions.Provide technical management of system production to verify contract compliance, monitor production schedules, review waiver and deviation requests, track configuration against inventory requirements, review consent to ship packages, and other production-related tasks.Support system Test and Evaluation, coordinating with test program personnel and organizations. Verify system configuration in support of test objectives, review test scenarios against test objectives, review performance prediction results against established criteria, and review test results against mission objectives.Support integration of systems on new and existing platforms. Provide technical review and coordination in developing system interfaces.Provide in-service support to missile and launcher systems including overseeing configuration management and researching and reporting Fleet issues, coordinating with the In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA). QualificationsTo be successful in this role you will have:
An active Secret clearanceUS CitizenshipA Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or related technical discipline.8 years of experience (Experience in managing weapons programs for the government or industry of progressively increasing size, value, and complexity highly preferred)Naval Missile Systems experience.An understanding of Naval systems, particularly combat systems, weapons, or C4ISR systems.Systems engineering or other technical background to understand customer needs in a program office for a technical system, field activity, or lab.Ability to work a Hybrid Schedule (3-4 days in office, 1-2 days telework depending on customer needs)Ability to travel up to 10% of the timeAdditional desired experience and skills:
