Northrop Grumman Tactical Space Systems Division (NG TSSD) has an opportunity for an experienced Mission Assurance Manager 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in Gilbert, AZ. The Mission Assurance Manager will also support individual National Space and Security (NSS), Civil and Commercial Satellite (CCS) program needs to ensure all requirements are met with on-time delivery and first-time quality.

This is a dual-role manager position, involving balancing both the overall Functional oversight and management of a group of 15-20 engineers as well as performing direct work on a program(s) / proposal(s). The candidate will spend 40% of their time on support of the organization and 60% of their time on technical direct work. The time split may fluctuate throughout the year, especially during surge recruiting and rotation months. The management indirect responsibilities involve organizational administrative activities, employees’ performance and career development, staff and department meetings, and process improvements. The direct program responsibilities include mission assurance engineering, requirements management, oversight in discrepancy review, failure investigations, as well as cause and corrective action determinations. Represents Mission Assurance at different review boards including Configuration Control Board (CCB), Corrective Action Board (CAB), & Material Review Board (MRB). Includes proposal efforts, contract estimations, and earned value management oversight.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or STEM field12 years minimum of industry experience in one or more areas of: Safety and Mission Assurance; Systems, Electrical, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering; Production / Manufacturing; and / or Quality Engineering / AssuranceThe ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearanceExperience leading / managing a department, function, or teamFamiliarity with ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality Management SystemsExperience with a Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS)Excellent written and verbal interpersonal, communication, leadership, and mentoring skills and confidence to brief upper management on a regular basisPreferred Qualifications:
