Mission Integrator - Launch Operations, Project Kuiper
Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of over 3,000 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.

The Project Kuiper team is looking for a Technical Program Manager to own the technical requirements between the satellite, dispenser, and launch vehicles to provide an integrated system for launch. The role will interface with cross-functional engineering and program/product management teams to define mission configurations and verify multiple launch vehicle and mission requirements sets, interface with launch vehicle and dispenser system providers, and interface with internal stakeholders delivering satellites to the launch site. The role will perform launch vehicle and dispenser interface management; launch systems integration; configuration management; requirements definition, management, and verification for complex multi-manifest launches. This role reports directly to the Head of Mission Management.

Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Key job responsibilities
• Define and manage internal and external interface requirement sets for satellites, satellite dispensers, and launch vehicles. Identify requirement gaps between systems and work with internal and external stakeholders to gain alignment.
• Manage verification artifact generation, review, and approval for Kuiper hardware and dispenser and launch vehicle providers.
• Define payload configurations based on launch vehicle requirements and capabilities, satellite and dispenser readiness, and mission timelines.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify, assess, and manage technical and programmatic risks to ensure timely and successful deployment of the Kuiper constellation.
• Work with satellite subsystems product/program management to ensure that Range Safety compliance is met.
• Coordinate with the design and integration teams to ensure successful spacecraft to launch vehicle integration and resolve any technical challenges.
• Scale solutions and processes across a suite of launch vehicles to optimize launch opportunities and drive efficiencies across the Kuiper program
• Collaborate with partner organizations to prepare and deliver test procedures, tracking all activities and ensuring readiness for launch.

A day in the life
You will support multiple missions with multiple launch providers in parallel defining and managing interfaces, requirements, and payload configurations. For each mission and launch vehicle you will work with mission managers and dispenser and satellite engineering teams to define and approve interface requirements, develop mission configurations consistent with these interface requirements and mission schedules, and generate and review verification artifacts in preparation for launch.

Work with a team of professional, experienced, space enthusiast Mission Managers to provide an efficient launch cadence to meet Kuiper production rates. Collaboration with various teams in Kuiper is essential as we strive to innovate and make launch as routine as boarding a passenger flight.
